Buy this shoe people! Don't let the 'running' part of the description fool you. I have a very bad back. This shoe has little 'things' on the bottom of the shoe which protrude out of the sides a little bit, and oh boy, do they provide balance. In addition they have excellent traction which also gives you excellent control and confidence even if you are not a runner. They are very nice looking and although I was concerned about so much mesh on the sides in the winter, with socks, they are fine. I love these shoes. I bought two pairs, one in brown and one in black. I wear a wide (D) width but with these I bought a 'B' and they are fine. I just loosened the laces. I highly recommend these.
